Each kit includes a sterile iSWAB™-ID device, a sterile swab, a plastic biohazard bag with an absorbent pad, an extra barcode label for lab use, an "Exempt Human Specimen" label, and an outer box for mailing. DNA extraction can be performed with any commercially available whole-blood extraction chemistry.
Storage and Stability: The iSWAB™-ID has a pre-collection stability of 3 years from the date of manufacture when stored between 15-30°C. Post-collection, samples remain stable at room temperature for 60 days in real-time and up to 3 years based on accelerated stability testing. For longer storage, samples can be kept at -20 to -80°C.
