The iSWAB™-ID Human DNA Collection Kit is a cutting-edge solution for collecting and stabilizing forensic and reference DNA samples. This non-invasive, swab-based device is ideal for collecting DNA from a range of sources including touch DNA, buccal cells, blood spots, sweat, semen, and other bodily fluids. The iSWAB™-ID ensures efficient DNA recovery and stabilization at room temperature, preserving sample integrity for up to 3 years.
Each kit includes a sterile iSWAB™-ID device, a sterile swab, a plastic biohazard bag with an absorbent pad, an extra barcode label for lab use, an "Exempt Human Specimen" label, and an outer box for mailing. The device's proprietary technology allows for complete sample release and stabilization without the need for drying, significantly reducing the risk of DNA degradation or contamination.

It is suitable for use with touch DNA, buccal cells, blood spots, sweat, semen, and other bodily fluids. The device provides high DNA recovery and long-term stability, supporting multiple analysis runs and archiving purposes.
Indication for Use: The iSWAB™-ID is used for the collection and stabilization of forensic and reference DNA samples. It maintains DNA integrity during transport and storage, enabling high recovery rates compatible with ID profiling assays. DNA extraction can be performed with any commercially available whole-blood extraction chemistry.
Storage and Stability: The iSWAB™-ID has a pre-collection stability of 3 years from the date of manufacture when stored between 15-30°C. Post-collection, samples remain stable at room temperature for 60 days in real-time and up to 3 years based on accelerated stability testing. For longer storage, samples can be kept at -20 to -80°C.
